We, the family of the Citrus Heights SDA Church, are so excited to be a part of the Orangevale and Citrus Heights Chambers of Commerce and their communities. The church is studying and learning how to be more active in sharing the love of Jesus in these communities.
We are pleased to say that we have received recognition from Assemblywomen Beth Gaines for outstanding community outreach, and an award for being taking part in the Citrus Heights Relay for Life. In July 2016 Lisa D & Associates hosted a Bikes & Bling, Sunday Funday which received a special appearance on Good Day Sacramento. Logan’s Roadhouse in Citrus Heights, CA was also one of the many vendors in attendance the day of the event. But the best part of Bikes & Bling, was being able to assist 6 refugee families with household items left over from the community yard sale including furniture, pots and pans, lamps, books, shoes, clothes, dishes, etc.
Another one of our members has started a bread ministry. She has been taking the left over bread from church and sharing it with several families in her complex. They now call her the Bread-lady. Families within the complex have started speaking to each other without even knowing each others language. Praise God for universal love!!
The Bread-lady has also discovered that the Manager of her complex speaks five different languages. With this new found information the Bread-lady asked if she could put display a community bulletin board so that the entire complex could communicate with each other. Our new neighbors are now asking for Bibles. Thank you Jesus for these baby steps!!
